Arie Duo – Cuentos de Opera (2018)

The two Carmen Fantasies arrangements (Sarasate and Borne), are a real challenge, especially for the flute, and gives the duo ample opportunity to fully demonstrate their
virtuosity. Usually heard with piano, they sound particularly authentic with guitar accompaniment.
Two modern commissioned works for the duo then lead into the present,. American guitarist and composer Alan Thomas Fantasy on Themes from “Die Fledermaus” combined the melodies so well that the piece could almost be mistaken for an original work from the time the operetta was written.
Estructuras sobre El Condor Pasa by the Peruvian guitarist Pedro Rodriguez Chirinos, is made with contrasting structures and tonal and instrumental effects, e.g. B. the use of the blowing technique of the Andean flute. Both works, Estructuras and Fantasy, are recommended as real enrichments to the not too large repertoire for flute and guitar for replay.
The third original work for flute and guitar, the Grand Potpourri op.126 by guitarist Mauro Giuliani, which was written about 200 years earlier, refers to the origin of the Repertoires from domestic music lovers. (Das Orchester).
