Cherusker Idylle by Julio Arancibia

Overture “Cherusker” (2014):
The Hermann monument in Detmold inspired me to compose a few years ago something about this historic event in the 9th century in the Teutoburg Forest. I had a vision of this battle when the Romans invaded Detmold and fought a cruel battle with the Teuton. This overture, which is conceived as a fanfare, is marked by this historic moment and my first attempt to write a “programmatic” background music for a film.
