Impromptu Cis-moll Op. I by Julio Arancibia
Impromptu in C sharp minor Op. I (1986):
Inspired by a dream in which famous musicians met (Mozart, Beethoven, Bach and Liszt). At the beginning, I was just a silent observer at the meeting, but I was glad to be part of this magical and imaginary world. When I had the opportunity to speak with Franz Liszt, I asked him how I could write something technically challenging for piano. He then advised me to compose in C sharp minor. Thanks to him, a day later, I wrote this piece with two thematic variations in just that key.
